Hmm. All right look at this. These buds are big and delicious. The smell is terrific I can assure you and the stickiness is next level stuff. These plants are about 14 weeks old and they are pretty ripe. We need to harvest soon, but how do we know when to harvest? Well, you look at the plants and they’re starting to look kind of old. 60-70% of the white hair have turned brown and there’s not much new growth. And if you check with a microscope you can see those trichomes are turning brown, they’re not white anymore, and that is your sign that you can harvest the plant soon. Also, there is no 100% correct way to know when to chop down the plant. You can harvest a bit earlier and the plants will have a more uplifting effect, or you can wait really, really long and then the plants will make you sleepy when you consume them. It depends on what you like. If you harvest too early, you lose quality. If you harvest too late, you lose time. If you don’t know when you should harvest, just harvest when your plants look similar to this, it’ll be fine.

But before you whip out your scissors, you need to flush your plants. That means you don’t give them fertilizer anymore. Instead, you just give them pure water for at least a week. That will remove all the fertilizer residue that may still be in the plant, and your weed will be better. It’s a bit of a gamble, but if you feel that your plants are going to be ripe soon, stop giving fertilizer, give pure water only. And then after one week of flushing, it’s time to say goodbye. It’s a sad moment but, I mean, it has to be done.
