Lesson Summary:
In this lesson, Jack teaches you how to take your plants out of the vegetative stage and into flowering (making buds!)
Lesson Transcript:
Hello there and welcome back it’s Jack and today we learn about flowering your plants, because Cannabis grows in two stages. First you have the vegetative stage. In that stage the plant grows its frame, it means it grows branches and leaves, and it grows very strong. That’s kind of the basis. In flowering mode the plant will grow buds on that frame. So how does the plant know when to grow flowers? Well, if your using automatically flowering seeds, then you wouldn’t need to do any of this, you can skip this video. But if your using regular seeds or if you don’t know what I’m talking about, then you need to tell the plants to go into flower. So how do you do that? You change the light duration. At the moment you have the light on eighteen hours and you have them off for six hours; to tell the plant to go into flowering, you switch to twelve hours on and twelve hours off. Now the plant will start to grow flowers.
It will now take three weeks or so for you to see the first signs of flowering. Now we have to remain patient, and in the meantime you could go and watch our Canna Cribs episodes where we film the world’s largest grow operations, or if you want, you could chat with me on the forum.
Either way, I hope to see you in the next video.
