Lesson Transcript:
So I’m now going to cut off the whole plant, and now we have to remove all of those tiny little leaves in between the buds. This is called trimming and it makes your weed look nice and professional. You can do this in two ways. There is something called wet trimming, it means you do it while the plant is still wet, basically right after you cut it down. But then some people say, the weed will be better if you let the whole plant dry first, and then you do dry trimming. Dry trimming is a little bit more difficult because the leaves are hard to remove, but maybe the weed actually does taste better.
In this case here I’m now going to do dry trimming, and now the work begins. As you can see here on this bud there are lots of small leaves growing out of it; we want to trim those. We don’t want this hairy look; we want a more compact and beautiful look, like this. And you don’t want to discard those leaves because they are full of sticky trichomes and they can be used to make edibles or hash, or you can even smoke them, but it would be pretty harsh if you smoke those. But you know sometimes you don’t have weed, and you’re happy to have those leaves.
Then there are also these bigger leaves on the plants, like these ones here. They have trichomes, you can’t smoke them, you can just throw them out.
Thirty minutes later I have completed trimming my plant and I have a whole pile of fresh weed. Make sure you touch this fresh weed as little as possible because it’s very sticky, and anything that’s stuck on your hands won’t be in your joint later. Also, you could put this on parchment paper. Parchment paper is not very sticky.
So this now needs to dry. Please go to the next video, where I show you how to dry for maximum smell, taste, and deliciousness! See you then.
