Hello there and welcome back. In this video we’re going to talk about grow lights.

There are different types of grow lights. Most of you will be using an LED (light emitting diode) grow light, and that’s great because they work well and they have become more and more inexpensive.

So which LED grow light is good? Well it depends on your budget. If you want one that’s affordable and still good, I’ve linked my favorite one under the video. If you want something a little bit better, you could buy two Quantum boards, also linked under the video. And if you want the very best one at the moment available you would buy the Fluence Spyder. Generally speaking you will need to spend a little bit more on an LED grow light if you want to get a good harvest out of it.

Alternatively, you could look at HID (high intensity discharge) lamps. They are called HPS (high pressure sodium) and MH (metal halide). Those lights are a bit older but the produce really, really good harvest. The problem is they use a lot of electricity, however, when you buy them they’re really really cheap. If you use one of those make sure you use a good fan in your tent to get rid of the heat.

The last type of lamp is the CMH (ceramic metal halide) lamp. It’s a combination of HID lamps and LED lamps. They produce a really good light spectrum, so your plants grow really well under those. They are pretty new and if you want to try one of those you’ll probably get a really good result with them.
