Chlorofluorocarbons (CFC)

Chlorofluorocarbons (CFCs) are a group of compounds that are often referred to as “Freon.” They were used heavily as refrigerants for early refrigerators and aerosols. CFC’s have been determined to be a primary cause for ozone depletion in the atmosphere and are illegal for use in refrigeration and aerosols in several countries.
